One More Initiative To Improve melssCRM Security

In an open world – where data travels across networks in different continents, security has become all the more important. If customers are assured about the precautions that we take to safeguard their data, they feel secure and accept our product much faster. melssCRM being a web based CRM software takes data confidentiality very seriously.

We continuously work on enhancing the security that melssCRM offers. The login process takes place through Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) and uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) cryptographic protocol for encryption.

Rigorous testing was performed on various browsers and we implemented a Two-factor authentication mechanism – Identity Confirmation to authorize the browser through which you access melssCRM.

Initially we began with sending emails to your inbox to confirm your identity or allow your melssCRM administrator to manually enable a specific session.

To take security to the next level and give more agility to our users, we have now added a SMS option to confirm your identity.

Now you can receive Identity Confirmation codes on your mobile and stay secure with melssCRM.

Enterprise Class Security

After some recent usability, shortcuts, customization and branding updates to melssCRM, its time we focus back onto security.

IT Security is one of the major concerns when it comes to business. The “I” in IT represents Information and it is very critical. Many businesses do invest in IT security, but they are never sure of how much should they invest in it. Since business data is an intangible asset (though it can be quantified after a through analysis), going for the best security measures available makes perfect sense.

There are numerous security issues that a general user is not aware of and can accidentally be a threat to the organization’s security. As the saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure” – it is always better to take proactive measure to ensure the security of your organization.

We have recently introduced two new security updates – IP Security and Identity Confirmation.

IP Security

By using IP Security you can control the access over an IP Address range. This prevents intrusion from unauthorized people trying to access your account from different parts of the world.

Identity Confirmation

The best possible security measure you can take is to authorize is to grant access based on PC to PC (applies to Notebook, Netbooks, etc.). Authorize specific computers to be able to access your account and forget about unauthorized users trying to access your login ever again.

Implement Password Policy to enhance security and increase your efficiency by setting Reminders

Password Policy

Online Security – the biggest concern for any enterprise. Critical information of the customer and organization is stored online and they need to be well protected. Brute force password cracking is one of the oldest methods to hack a password. Moreover hackers are finding new ways everyday to break the toughest of security measures.

Theoretically an ideal solution would be to educate your employees about the threats of password cracking, believe that everyone uses a safe password and they renew it periodically. However enterprises cannot run on beliefs, they need to be sure about their online security.

melssCRM now introduces a feature – Password Policy to address this issue. It allows you to:

1.    Enforce Password Policy
2.    Maintain Complexity of Passwords
3.    Password Expiry Period
4.    Maximum Invalid Log-ins
5.    Lockout Period

Reminders

One of the key benefits of a CRM is – it automates your business processes. This enables the cyclic business process to run smoothly.

Does that mean the benefits should be limited to the business alone or could it be extended to the humans who use the CRM Solution?

We think humans are the most important part of the CRM cycle and every benefit for the business should be translated as a benefit to the humans as well. In short, make melssCRM user-friendly.

Forgetfulness is human nature and to ensure you remember it, is your duty.

Reminders are an integral part of our routine life. If you want to make a call or catch up with someone, you set a reminder. On receiving the reminder, you are most likely to complete the task that you set a reminder for.

Now we have rolled out a feature to set Reminders on Leads, Accounts, Contacts, Opportunities, Activities and Cases. Prior to this, there was a provision to set Reminders on Activities alone, it has been improved and implemented universally across different tabs. You can set multiple reminders on a single item as well. Reminders can be set either while creating a new item or after it has been created.
